    Hi,
I recently got a new computer. I zipped up my profile folder from my old computer and backed it up to a CD. When I try to access the profile folder from the backup it looks like it's there along with the kb's. but when I open my important email when I am in the mail nothing shows up. I have tried several times but it doesn't show my important emails. I must be doing something wrong. Could you please help me.
    Thank you.

Right click on the Inbox, or wherever you have your mail, and check Properties. If Read only is checked, uncheck it. It seems to happen with files treated as you you did.

    Welcome to the Forum, marilync!

    Hi marilync,

Were the files "Read only" when you checked the Properties sheet?

When you copied the Profiles data from the CD to your new PC, did you copy the entire Profiles folder to the new PC, or did you copy individual files?

Also, did you point your Mail settings to the correct Profile location? That would be done here:
Edit | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | Server Settings
At the bottom of the page, in the "Local directory" setting, ensure that it does point to the correct Mail account folder

Take a look at this page and see if it helps you troubleshoot your problem:
Transfer Profiles from PC to PC

Let us know so we can help you retrieve your Mail, and other important data.

    Ramona :D
