Backdoor.SdBot.gen and WinAntispyware2008 Problems

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have PeoplePc DSL and I use their Internet Security Pack. My PC is infected with the Backdoor.SdBot.gen and WindowsAntispyware2008. The Security Pack catches the Malware and deletes it, but it comes right back after re-boot. My operating system is Windows XP Home Edition and I use IE7. I have also used ComboFix once and have the log for that. Please help me someone. :)

You have some McAfee leftovers. Please, run McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/McAfee-Consumer-Product-Removal-Tool.shtml

When done...

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
1. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
2. Close any open browsers.
3. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
• Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results ".
• Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
• Close any open browsers.
• WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
• Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
• If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.
4. Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
5. When finished, it will produce a report for you.
6. Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Make sure, you re-enable your security programs, when you're done with Combofix.

Please download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder
• Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
• Accept any prompts.
• Open JavaRa.exe again and select Search For Updates.
• Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button. Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.

Note 1: UNCHECK any pre-checked toolbar and/or software offered with the Java update. The pre-checked toolbars/software are not part of the Java update.

Note 2: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. If you don't want to run another extra service, go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter. Click OK and restart your computer.

================================================================

We have some issue here, regarding your security program from PeoplePC.
First of all, this is pretty poor protection, and on a top of it, it doesn't appear to be running.
There is one process:
O23 - Service: EarthLinkSafeConnectAgent - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\PeoplePC\PeoplePC Internet Security Pack\Sana\Bin\SanaAgent.exe (file missing)
but the file is missing, and the program doesn't appear to be active.
I need some explanation.

Very good decision...

- Avast! free antivirus: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
- Avira free antivirus: http://www.free-av.com/en/download/1/avira_antivir_personal__free_antivirus.html

- free PC Tools Antivirus: http://www.pctools.com/free-antivirus/
- free PC Tools Firewall Plus: http://www.pctools.com/firewall/

- free Comodo Internet Security (firewall + AV): http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/
NOTE. During installation, Comodo will also allow you to install AV only, or firewall only, if you prefer to combine one Comodo product with some other product.

If you decide to install Avast, or Avira, make sure, Windows firewall is turned on, or use PC Tools Firewall Plus, or Comodo firewall..
If you decide to install Comodo Internet Security, or just Comodo firewall, make sure, Windows firewall is turned off.

IMPORTANT! Make sure, you use only ONE antivirus, and ONE firewall.

When done with all changes, post fresh HJT log.

OOOK...what is Kaspersky antivirus doing there?
You can't run two antivirus programs at the same time.

wasn't present in HJT log from your post #8, but it IS present in log from your reply #12

===================================================================

Print this post out, since you won't have an access to it, at some point.

1. Open HijackThis.

2. Close all windows, except for HijackThis.

3. Put checkmarks next to the following HijackThis entries:

- O2 - BHO: Accelerator Plugin - {656EC4B7-072B-4698-B504-2A414C1F0037} - C:\PROGRA~1\PEOPLE~1\PRPL_I~1.DLL (file missing)
- O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PeoplePC Internet Security Pack] "C:\Program Files\PeoplePC\PeoplePC Internet Security Pack\BIN\ppc_isp2.exe" /tray
- O9 - Extra button: Messenger - {FB5F1910-F110-11d2-BB9E-00C04F795683} - C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe (file missing)

4. You should also checkmark following entries (these are unnecessary startups; no actual programs will be removed):

- O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvCplDaemon] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup
- O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nwiz] nwiz.exe /install

- O20 - Winlogon Notify: !SASWinLogon - C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SASWINLO.dll

5. Click on Fix checked button.

6. Open Windows Explorer. Go Tools>Folder Options>View tab, put a checkmark next to Show hidden files, and folders.

7. Delete following files/folders (if present):
Note. If deletion doesn't work, attempt it in Safe Mode - restart computer, and keep tapping F8 key, until menu appears.

- PeoplePC folder fromC:\Program Files

8. Go Start>Run (Vista users - "Start search "), type in:
cmd
Click OK (Vista users - hold CTRL, and SHIFT keys, press Enter).

Type in:
sc stop AVP
Press Enter.
Wait for the service to be stopped.
