    Operating with Win 98.
    Periodically I will read instructions which indicate a need to back up a file. Not sure how to back up a file using windows. Can someone set me straight. Thanks.:confused:

    Backing up a file can be as simple as renaming it. Let's say a program is going to replace a file named Mfc40.dll. By renaming it Mfc40.old you are protecting yourself from glitches that may occur in other programs that require the file. Should problems arise, you know that the original file is labeled "old" and can be renamed back to .dll
