Lately, at least once a day or more when browsing in various sites, when I click on the upper left corner Arrow to go back to the previous page, it just sits there no matter how many times I click it. (IE8 and XP-Pro/Sp3).

However, if I right click in the body and click Back, that usually works.

Is this a bug or what?

I guess I could delete IE8 and reload it if I have to.

Hi robls99. Does this bug only happen on particular websites or does it occurr on any website that you visit?

Have you tried browsing without add-ons? (Start< All Programs< Accessories< System Tools< Internet Explorer No Add-ons)

In IE8 try clicking Tools< Delete Browsing History and delete your drowsing data and see if that makes any difference.

May be worthwhile ruling out redirects (which I believe is one issue to which Evan was inferring), web pages can redirect you to other pages and obviously going back to the previous (often invisible, depending on connection) page would simply redirect you again (endless loop).

    Evan,

As far as I know, it happens on random websites. I'll try your other suggestions.

    wildfire,

What's the easiest way to tell if the "redirect" is the proble?

Or make sure that it hasn't opened another window over the top of the original one.

So far, I deleted my browsing history and haven't seen any problem for almost a week.

Great. Hopefully that solution resolved your problem. :) If it happens again post back and let us know.
