I recently formatted my computer. Since then the Back Button hasn't been working like it used to. I now have to click on it 2 or 3 or more times to get back to where I was. I have even had to exit some websites and start all over. Not a terrible thing - just annoying. Any thoughts for a fix? Using IE8 presently with XP Pro.

    Does it happen here?

Some sites are designed to not allow the back button to work..

Seems to work here just fine but I never noticed it on other sites until now.

Is it possibly a "Time out" like FF says it has to "Resend" to restore previous page? Neil.

P.S. Did you Format or Reinstall XP Pro?

I've seen times that the back button didn't work well with Firefox (on XP and W7). I remedied the situation by holding down on the back button and choosing a list of previously visited web sites located in a drop-down menu.

Does IE 8 offer that option?

Got to agree with you on this. Either have to hold the left click down and choose were to go or right click will display where you have been also. Still have to left click on where you want to go anyways.

Never noticed this behavior until after the FORMAT. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it. I also noticed that if I double click on the Back Button i9t goes back much faster.
