I'm on a network with the speed to do anything I need, and the privileges to execute it. But my avira updates (I need to install a copy so I can walk through something with a client) keeps dying on me.

I haven't seen the download speed go over 3k/sec, and when I check back after a while (a reasonable enough time to have virus definitions downloaded), the avira main window says I have performed no updates of definitions.

I'm not running proxies, and our firewall has never slowed or capped download speeds previously that I know of.

Instead of doing my work for me (as some people wrongly think I ask for, but am trying to improve that perception), can someone point me ion a direction to research or check? Let me learn the answers for myself, but at least put me in the right jungle to find said answers?

The 'problem' is most likely with the Avira servers - they seem to have limited bandwidth. I guess you hit a busy time.

OTH a uninstall/reinstall of Avira may help.
