AVG Link Scanner Problems

    The problem I'm about to describe occured over night without me even touching anything. The Green Link scanner icon has disappeared and been replaced by a greyed out question mark. I have upgraded to AVG 8.5 from AVG8.0 recently but the problem persists.

    I use Google as my Homepage. I have checked to make sure AVG Safe search Addon is enabled and AVG Interface is showing Link scanner is active.

    I have tried using MSN as my homepage and Link Scanner icon is present.
    Seems to only happen with Google. Me thinks it could have been an upgrade from Google that has caused this. Either way, I'm stumped.

    I am using Win XP Pro SP3 Home Edition and everything else is working fine including my speed. I use 1500/256kbs s everything happens very fast.

    Anyone got any ideas.:confused:

    On all the systems I installed AVG on, the Link Sacnner seemed to slow down browsing. Thus I now always do a custom install option and don't install Link Scanner.

    Thanks for your input Tony but I have never had a problem with a slow down on browsing. I have used several versions of AVG now and never had a problem even with Link Scanner running active. This could be due to the high speed that I use too I guess.

    Anyway, thanks again. I'll hold out and see if anyone else posts a reply.
