AVG anti-virus

    I read somewhere that AVG only issues MONTHLY updates unlike Norton or other with their daily updates.
    Does anyone know if this is true?

    Not true. I have downloaded available updates daily, sometimes every three days. I do remember a time one was not available for a week. It all depends on them finding a new virus or a new variation of an existing virus, and coding up a new table.

    I have got into the habit of checking daily for updates. I've not got the best of faith in any virus scan to check automatically.
