AVG 8.5 problems

    I run Win XP PRO on a Sony Vaio and use Seamonkey 1.1.4 [because I want to use several extensions that do not work in later versions] and hasve never had a problem with the AVG 7.5 but since it was being phased out I installed AVG 8.5 and now all of my restore points are corrupt,it will not allow any popups at all. I had cloned my drive before installing and was able to go back to my old drive. All I want is an Anti Virus and and e-mail scanner--any suggestions? I do very little surfing and watch I do not go to any suspect sites or download just anything.

    Look at Avast or Avira - I use them both on different computers.

    Also consider the Comodo security suite.

    I use the Comodo BOClean --have you had any trouble with either Avast or Avira? I will take a look at them.
