Don't know where is a good place to post this question but since it is portable I will try here.

Can you connect a computer (pc) to a car radio through the usb port for the purpose of editing the music on the hard drive?

    **edit to clarify message.**

    What does "cp" stand for?

I can't say that I've seen a car radio with a hard drive. Doesn't music come via the air waves?

Or maybe I'm so old I should stay out of this thread:eek:

"cp" is backwards, sorry, should be pc. Many of todays radios have a hard drive so you can download your music from a cd to the hard drive then you do not need the cd to play the music. Mine has a 28 gigabyte hard drive.

    I edited your original post...

And WOW, I am getting old...

But, have you looked in the manual? I'd think you should at lease be able to get the music off it's hard drive to a USB device and then edit the music and put it back on.

Manuals aren't that specific. The radio menu itself only allows for a complete deletion of the hard drive.
A 28 gig. will hold approximately 6000 songs.

Assuming that the radio hard drive has a controller aka an external hard drive then the PC should recognise it as an additional drive. The USB port on the radio must be there for a purpose.

Guess the only way to find out is to try it :)

That is what I was wondering about since it pretty much works that way with cameras, etc. Thanks.

If you load the files from a cd onto the hard drive then you should edit the files (tags) prior to putting them onto the cd.

Although that is a true statement it doesn't apply to the question.
