Every time I start-up Windows 2000 also a map with Icons starts up.

Of course I can just put on the x -button to remove it, but it boring to do it every time. How can I get this out from my system?

    Tanks,

    Ton

    Probably spyware?
Install Ad-Aware and Spybot - search & destroy. Do a search for download site(s). Update both programmes after installation and click on the update buttons weekly. Delete all that they both find.

Ad-ware pro and Spy-bot are already installed. The problem is not identified by these programs.

    Two thoughts.

    - Have you checked to see what is running at start-up to try and identify where the thing comes from?

    - Have you tried setting Windows Messenger (the service, not an IM) to stop and disabled at startup to see if someone has done a nasty to you that spyware crunchers can't find since the messenger service is a normal part of 2K?

I received a recommendation to download JV16 Power Tools and to clean Windows register. Fortunately it has worked. The problem is solved!!

Good to see that all was needed was a clean of the registry.
My suggestion would be to use a far more powerful registry cleaner (which is freeware, unlike jv16PowerTools!) RegSeeker which from my experience is superior to jv16PowerTools and also includes a backup/restore function incase something doesn't work after the clean.
