    I have 7 computer all running XP in a small office. Each PC has Outlook 2003 installed so each individual has there own Personal Folder with contacts, email, etc. One machine acts as a Primary Server (just files; no e-mail server). I automatically backup the Primary server docuements every night to another machine, thereby having two copies of the newest documents.

    I want to, based on a time drivien batch file, back up these PST files to my Primary Server.

    Can someone suggest a batch file for this?

    save as pst-bak.cmd
    Code:
    @echo off
    xcopy /q/s/c/d/h/e/r/y/i  "%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\*.*"  "full-path-to-server\folder "
    I am fairly certain that Outlook must NOT be running for the pst to be copied.

    Just wondering if the solution I apply to my computer - and have done so for many years with both OE and Outlook - would work for you.

    I move the OE store folder or Outlook .pst file to another hard drive which is backed up hourly.

    Could you move the .pst files to the server - would that work?
    Not entirely sure on that although I have received the occasional warning from my backup software that it could not backup the .pst file. My take is that Outlook may be running, but not active, i.e. sending/receiving.

    It's a manual task? - Under File > Backup > Options there is a check box 'Remind me to .....' with a setting for x days.

    Thanks to all. The MS backup utility works fine but yes, you do have to have Outlook closed.
