    i have a adsl router on my lan i use it to monitor the network, its protected with a username and password (as it can be connected to via the net) but i want to know if you can auto login to a page, like you can with FTP.
    i.e ftp://steve:thepassword@blah.com
    is there something similar for http?

    There was but I think the recent versions of IE (and maybe the other browsers) have done away with it for security reasons. Don't remember the details but I do sorta remember reading about that.

    Hopefully someone will have more details.
