I am having problems (several of them) with my computer, and the Symantic test says my windows is running in Audit mode. I don't even know what means, but how do I fix it?

    TIA

I don't really know. My problem was I couldn't Download Norton, and I finally deleted tha parts I had installed, and finally got it to running okay,.. I don't know exactally how I got it fixed, but I got it going. I think from what I have found out is I need to Reinstall Windows 98

    Thanks

    Hi Molehill,
Did you find out any more information on what this "audit mode" alert was all about? I did find references to it in reguards to OEM quickrestore problems but if that was the case, when you accessed the startup menu, an audit mode would be a choice found among the other options? Do you have such bootup options? I'm not suggesting you upset your computer by experimenting with any odd bootup option should they be there! I have not followed through on any of the links to see what this is why it would be there or what happens when you switch from one option to the next. So please don't do this! I'm just curious since this "audit mode" subject is "new to me ".

I have done some research on this. Audit Mode is mentioned as a feature of Norton Internet Security software, much like a packet sniffer.
