audio?

when trying to play audio trax be it mp3 or wav in win98 through a multitude of progs (mediaplayer, mediaplayer classic or even foobar2000) i get an error saying something along the lines...

mscam32.dll linked to endnt.dll

have done a search and both dlls are present but dont understand why one is linked to the other, this particular machine is around my kids house and when i ask who done what i get the same response as i do when i ask who put dance ejay prog.... "I dunno" with the shrug to accompany the statement... jeeez kids
