HP 630 Laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium with Logitech external speakers powered directly from wall outlet

I am getting dowmloads from various sites that are fine with their video resolution, but they all have greatly reduced audio levels in comparison with the level when played 'live' from their origin site.

Anyone have any idea what might be creating this condition? I am not even a novice in dealing with audio settings for the laptop. My knowledge is pretty much to turning the volume knob on the speakers and adjusting the speaker volume level from the task bar.

Any thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi Bearclaw. Ensure that the speaker volume is at full by selecting the Mixer link on the audio icon in the system tray.

    See this screenshot:

Also what media player are you using to play the audio files?

Thanks Evan, not sure exactly what solved the issue but I followed your suggestions and toggled the controls around and voila! Things got resolved! Sorry for the delay in answering this, been out of the country for a little while.
