Alright, I am pretty much my friends, and Family local computer wiz guy, but I am new to Vista(Satan in Computer Form). I have been trying for nearly 8 Hours to get the Audio Drivers for a Gateway, its Model Number is No: MA7

It has a "SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC ". So pretty much I am asking is it common for a Vista Computer to randomly uninstall its Audio Drivers, and then when you re-install them to not recognize them as there.

I can Provide Pictures if needed.

    Hi,

How do you mean "get" the drivers? You have found them at Gateway and you are having problems downloading them? Is the problem with running the installation program? You probably should go to Programs in Control Panel and uninstall the old audio before installing the new.

You have unzipped/decompressed the files from the download to their own folder?

You can try finding the installation program, right-clicking on the file and choose "Run as Administrator ".

Have you turned off UAC? If so, try turning it back on again.

    Matt
