I have recently re-formatted my brother's computer and it has an onboard sound card. I tried to go to the card's website and downloading the latest drivers for it and it still doesn't work. I've tried checking the properties through My Computer and through BIOS and everything is enabled and is supposedly working fine, but still there's no sound. If anyone can help me with this problem, please do-it will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Anna

Do you by any chance have Norton AV installed - I vaguely remember a similar problem some years ago on a friend's Pc - there was a fix on the Symantec website - mind you, that was before XP.
