Attachments in Outlook Express & others

When attempting to open attachments in Outook Ex.
the program attempts to open in my "Music Match ", which obviously is not the correct program, and consequently the attachment does not open. They open in my Comcast mail, but not in Oulook or Incrdimail... Any Suggestions?? Thanks .

Sounds like you need to check your music match and/or folder options to change how the file extensions for the attachnent are handled.

 

Thanks rcerrato, Yea I've tried many options on the "Music Match ", but can't seem to figure out the problem. In the past, I was able to open those files in Outlook Ex., but suddenly they started going into the music match. I changed my email into the Comcast Mail Box, and can open them ok from there. Every other mail box I've tried seems to want to go to "Music Match. I'll do some more expierments, and see if I can get it to work.. Thanks again for your help.

 

kgprattsky--What file types are these attachments? How are you trying to open them? Any different from the way you are opening in Comcast email? In OE have you tried to Save, and then open the downloaded attachment?
In OE on OE Tools|Options|Security tab there is a setting "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened... ". Is that checked? If so, uncheck|Apply|OK. Don't know why Music Match should be involved, but it does not hurt to look.

 

Thanks Jim, yea I checked the Security setting in OE and that is ok. I don't know why Music Match is involved either, pretty strange. I don't attempt to open them any different than in ComCast. Generally I can open them by saving then opening. When I do this, I can open in OE. It gives me two choices when I ask to open the saved file, Music Match and Outlook Ex. Really strange huh? Anyway thanks for the input, I'll keep trying. If you think of anything else, I would certainly welcome the info. Thanks again....Ken...
