When I open an attachment from e-mail, make changes, and hit "save," the changes don't show up the next time I open the attachment. Where are the changes saved to?

Save the attachement to a desired directory prior to opening it. Attachements are usually (depending upon the mail program) if opened directly from the message, stored in a Temp directory such as c/windows/temp on win98 or docs&settings/user/local settings/temp on xp.
