I just installed a ATI TV Tuner because I want to tape some TV program when not at home. Everything works fine, ecxept I have no audio for the TV.

My regular audio is fine if I play music. It's only for the TV.

I went a few times to control Panel and check everything, tested the speakers.

I click in Sigma 1, apply, Ok in all screen available but without any good results.

I'm using a Logitech set of 2 speakers. My operation system is XP3. I conected the stereo cable in the Tuner and in Line In. Nothing works.

Can somebody help me with this issue? I would really appreciate any feedback. I'm very frustrated right now. Thanks for any help!

Hi and welcome to the BBS,

From my understanding, the audio from a TV audio needs to "run through" your audio drivers. There is a fault there somewhere.

"Identify" your audio system, the links in my signature might help. It may be in your motherboard manual (system specifications). Find out the model of your audio system, then find any drivers for them. [The original drivers that were supplied on a CD came with your computer may never have been installed.]

Get your audio drivers installed or up-to-date. It may mean that you go to Add or Remove Programs and uninstall the old drivers first, so read the instructions, if there are any.

Go to website of the TV adapter's manufacturer. Look up their frequently asked questions (FAQs) and read about audio problems.

    Matt

What kind of ATI TV tuner do you have? Is it an All-In-Wonder video card? Or just a tuner? What is the model name and number?

I ask because it sounds like the line in cable may not be in the right place. I had that problem with my ATI AIW video card. I needed to plug in the audio output from the video card to a sound card microphone input. Then set an option in the ATI software that said where the audio was going to. Until I got that right I had no sound.

[Just to clarify: I'm asking about an audio out cable from your ATI TV tuner. Where did you plug that into?]
