ATI Catalyst 2.4 an XP SP1 ?!!

Hallo

I installed XP SP1 a week ago. Everything worked fine but today I wanted to watch a divx movie on my TV. I attached TV cables as usuall, power on...and what..?... computer screen went black...and I had to reset my computer. When I plaged off the TV cable from the card (ATI 8500) everything worked fine again.
First I thought that all problems are caused by Catalyst 2.4 but then I changed to 2.3 but it helped nothing.
I heard that XP SP1 causes those problems. I removed SP1 but the problem stayed.
Did you have the same kind of problems with Catalyst and XP SP1?

P.S.
Before installing SP1 TV Out worked fine on Catalyst 2.3 and 2.4.

This sounds more like a hardware problem than a driver problem.

For what it's worth, my Catalyst drivers and all the updates are working fine on the 7000.

You could try another video card, or at least check that yours is well-seated.

Also, if you get in, remove all traces of the drivers (including the ATI folder in the root directory) and try again.
