Long story short I built a PC about a month ago and everything has been working smoothly and wonderful. I just used the ASUS Flash 2 utility in the bios to install the latest update 2603 (from I believe 2502). I placed the .CAP file in my boot partition and use the ASUS Flash 2 utility in BIOS to run the update. It said it installed successfully but when my PC rebooted I had no video and error code C0 was being displayed and that system doesn't even POST. I also don't have any beep codes to go by. I'm not 100% sure my speaker works (I've tried both directions plugging it in)

This code is not in the manual but what little information I could find seems to indicate that it may be a RAM compatibility error. This is reinforced by the fact the RAMOK LED on my mobo is on which supposedly indicates an issue. I tried holding the button down to initiate the auto-fix where it cycles through types of compatibility but I had no luck and the light turned solid again. I tried testing individual sticks on all 4 slots and none of them yielded a positive result.

I do not have any spare RAM to test with and my bios flashing knowledge is rather limited. Assuming I'm looking at the right list, my RAM still shows as compatible as of the latest update.

Anyone have any ideas on what to do or try? Should I go invest in a cheap USB memory stick and try and flash back to an older version? Not 100% sure if that's possible.

My rig information has been updated to reflect the new components.

Hi neutropia, did you follow the instructions in your Manual > Chapter 3.10? If so you can return to your original BIOS Flash. Why did you Flash the BIOS if everything was working OK?

    Retired,

I was always placed under the impression to keep everything up to date, which I now know does not apply to MoBos. I ended up purchasing a USB flash drive (no idea why I didn't already have one) and following steps I didn't actually use 3-10 as I needed access to the bios to use those features. I actually used the instructions on 2-23 and used the bios flashback button and it worked! Thanks for for reply so that I knew I'd need some sort of media.

Glad to see you've got it back running OK. I subscribe to "If it ain't broke - why fix it?" o_O My Asus board has run smoothly from the get go and will stay as is until something won't work properly. ;)
