    Hi Guys,
Ive got a problem with asrock 775 DUAL 915 GL.
    I'm using Soprano case http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/soprano/bns/bns.html

I belive everything is plugged in properly, however the motherboard does not go through POST process.Does not beep.I tried same motherboard but same issue.i disconnected every internal components and made sure everything is inserted properly but same issue. What i noticed is once i plug the power cable to the psu and you see the fan on the cpu rotating even though i hadn't pressed the power button on.It happened on the other asrock motherboard as well. When i click on the power button the lights come on but no screen is displayed.Tried different video card and it was same issue.

    Any idea?

    Thanks

If you think it is a problem with the case you can take the motherboard out and place it on a sheet of cardboard or the antistatic bag that the motherboard came in, connect only graphics and RAM. You can start it by shorting the two power switch connector pins momentarily.

When you plug in the power connector to the motherboard, do not have mains power connected to the PSU. Although you have not pressed the power button, power is still supplied to the motherboard.

If no drive LEDs flash when you press the power button and since you have ruled out the graphics card, I think the problem will either be incompatible RAM or the CPU is not recognised by the motherboard, in which case you should check the Asrock website for CPU compatibility for you model. It may need a BIOS upgrade for the CPU to work, this is hard since you need an older model CPU to run the upgrade.

You could try clearing the CMOS. Read about it in the motherboard manual.

If you purchased all the parts from the same supplier, contact them and asks if those parts should be compatible (one reason why I like using just one supplier). If they are from the same supplier you may find they will test it for you and they should upgrade the BIOS for you if that is the cause.
