I was checking thru my Norton AV logs from April when I got this PC. 21 viri found and trapped and every one of them a W32.Klez variant. W32.Klez.gen for the first couple of months and only W32.Klez.H since then.

Tempting fate, eh? I must say, I have been rather surprised by the longevity of this particular nasty. It's shocking to think how many unprotected machines must be out there. Maybe if Klez had had similar destructive powers to those of CIH more people would have taken notice.

Another thing is that with Klez there's no way of letting the victim know his PC is infected, as Klez uses bogus "From" data.....

The virus writers don't need a new virus cause Klez is the perfect virus. It executes by itself, it forges the email headers and even sends from a forged SMTP server, if memory serves. It can replicate itself w/o your doing a thing and can disable Norton Antivirus.
