dont know if this belongs here or not. got a new computer, dell dimension e510 media center edition. windows media player 10 is my choice of player.

senior computer(old) has media player 9 and ran 98se,well i asked the new computer to find my music and i told it c drive like i would on the old one and maybe i wasnt supposed to do that, because when it finished i had a screen and a half of world wind files in my music library, didnt even think deleted that from my library but not from the computer. what was left on the half screen was i think every sound this computer makes including the woman doing the tours. okay i dont think that world wind has suffered (to be honest with you,im going to have to take the tutorial again) and i think the sounds are were they are supposed to be. but im not sure. am i in trouble? there are over a hundred sounds including some U1L1DR and goes all the way up to U5L4GR they are all WAVs,i can rate them and i know how long they are, they treat them just like music. i really dont want them there in my library, but i am afraid to do anything with them but while i was preparing to burn a cd, i noticed one of the little sounds on the playlist. they are supposed to be grouped together, not in my music. and i do not want them to mess up my music it took me forever to get the music transfered from the senior computer to the new dell(her name is adell). so what do i do? are sounds supposed to be in windows media player's music library? and can you imagine me trying to explain this to dell india? i have probably got you all confused,i hope not
but what should i do? leave it alone? what? (whine) as usual

    Hi Jan,
You can select groups of files by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking on the files. When you have selected the ones you want to get rid of, right-click on one of the selections and choose "delete from library ", the next screen asks if you want to delete from My Computer as well...DONT.

Try a test first, find where the file is using Windows Search (for files and folders). Delete a file from WMP library. Use Search again to make certain the file is still on the harddrive. Try again selecting two or three files this time.

You just have to be careful and do tests to begin with.

    UH-OH! Hal and Adell :D .
I have names for my computers, but I would not print them here. Oh, and the names seem to change when I get more angry with them  :D
