Three week old computer, and almost every application quits responding. Not just the odd time, but pretty regularly. This did this from the first time I turned it on. It doesn't matter if it is IExplorer or one of the programs. What is frustrating is losing my work! Can anyone figure this?? Thanks, Robpaul
PS It is an Acer aspire 7745G

    Welcome to BBS,

As this is a new machine I would return it to the supplier without hesitation and get one that works:)

Thanks, but I just did not want to migrate files again. If I get no simple solution, it's going back.

So, you have migrated your files to the new PC even though it has had a fault from first use. Did it come with a restore disc or a recovery partition, you could try a restore.

The chances are if it was showing faults from the word go it has a hardware problem, that could be hard drive, memory or motherboard. Diagnostics are available for the hard drive but to test memory you would need to remove the memory modules, that could invalidate your guarantee. I would return it, but I can give instructions to run some tests if you wish.

Thanks, but I have just got done cleaning up some files and putting my stuff on a removable hard drive. I will take your advice and return this in the morning. Thanks again, Robpaul

OK, that is probably the best decision.
