Is anyone out there using Windows XP with a Netgear FA312 NIC ?

I am having problems with mine, on a cold boot the NIC fails to respond to the network, I have to disable and re-enable it to get it to work. I can log off and on with no problem, it only happens when I restart Windows.

If anyone can confirm a working situation then I know it is my setup, thanks.

    Windows XP Pro with SP1
    AMD Athlon 1.3Ghz
    VIA KT266A (Abit KR7A)
    512MB RAM
    GeForce4 Ti4200
    Netgear FA312 NIC

BTW I have set TCP/IP to a fixed address, but the same thing happens using DHCP.

Thanks for pointing it out, it either must be very new or I've totally failed to spot it, the Netgear site said the latest version was in Windows XP anyway.

As for that download, the ZIP file is invalid !

I read on microsoft.com the netgear is reconized as Linksys and you need to change registry. I am not sure but search over there for help

I downloaded it again and it was okay this time, and then installed it, no difference, same problem, I've rolled back as this driver is unsigned.

moco123: you have to be careful which "netgear" you are referring to, the FA310, FA311 and FA312 are all different chipsets afaik, however, Windows seems to recognised it specifically as a FA312.

Looking through the support section, I see there are quite a few topics on IRQ conflicts, what I may try is swapping the card to a slot that has no conflicts.

Windows reports no _conflict_ right now, although other cards are sharing the IRQ. I doubt this is the problem as once I disable/re-enable the adapter it works fine.
