I'm not sure if this should be posted here or in Win98, but just a few days ago ZoneAlarm started asking if I wanted to let Aornum access the internet. A google search says Aornum in mythology is the gateway to hell. I really wasn't ready to go there yet, so I haven't been allowing access. :D

I found Aornum in my Start Up files and sent it (4 items altogether) to the recycle bin. Before I delete it completely I'm hoping someone can tell me what it is, and why does it want to access the internet?

    Thanks.

    Hi Lily
    Welcome to the boards!
I get the feeling that's malware from Iwon.com
Try downloading and running Ad-aware to see if it will pick it up and delete it?

There's an IFrame virus that does similar....but let's lean to it being malware first?

Thanks for the welcome, Daizy. And thanks for the answer, too. Ad Aware didn't find Aornum (tho it did find 16 other cookies and files) but it was already in the recycle bin, so that may be why.

I bet it is from Iwon, because it started popping up right after I let them install the new spin machine. Who knew it came with spyware??

    Hiya Lily
Go check under add/remove programs in your control panel..and see if it's showing there? If it is....absolutely remove it. From what I remember...this is going to be quite a joy to get rid of. :(
