Something strange is happening when ive started logging on to AOL recently. Most of the time if i open MSN Messenger before or after connecting to AOL, and then clicking sign in, the whole program will freeze. i crash it, then the computer wont let me open any new programs for about 2 minutes before an error report opens, then whatever ive opened floods onto the screen.

Its been going on for a while now and would really appreciate some help with the matter.

*I seemed to have fixed this for the moment. Though i do still have one problem with AOL. I cannot open/change the dialer settings in IE Tools -> Options -> Connections. I have "AOL Dial-On-Demand feature - Please do NOT delete this." How can i access this file, or perhaps create a new one with the same settings which would allow me to access its properties?

Hi AjsNightmare and sorry you haven't had any responses.

Most of us avoid using AOL and aren't really any good for helping with problems. I was hoping someone would wander by and look at this who did know the app but nothing so far.

I for one would burn AOL off the hard drive it if wouldn't end the lives of my mother and her partner, tis but a shame.

Ive figured out the actual extent of the problem now. Whenever i log onto AOL any programs ive opened before it connected will freeze for a good minute before i can use them. Anything that i try to open during this time will only open after this lag. Could it be something running in the background? Ive certainly not had this problem long so i have no idea why i do now.

I would be very grateful for any help with this and the connection properties issue i mentioned beforehand.

I hate to run folks off but for AOL issues, I'd suggest a forum that deals more with it since AOL has done some strange and interesting things with their code and you really need to know the app to make any decent suggestions.

I have a daughter in Georgia whom I love dearly but she insists on using AOL and I refuse to help her with problems after the first time I tried it.

Whew - it took some searching but I think

might be a place to check for help.
