I'm helping a friend with AOL 9.0 Optimized e-mail attachment problems. I don't use AOL - and I think now I know why.

We can't get the attachments - mainly photos of children/grandchildren - to open/view. When I try to download the attachments into MyDocuments/My Pictures, it appears as though they are downloading but when I open My Pictures, they are nowhere to be found. I have been all over the AOL Help and followed their Download Manager instructions to no avail.

I would switch her to AOL Web without the software or a POP3 setup but she would have difficulty making the switch. I may have to to that but I would like to try solving the problem within the AOL software first.

    Any ideas?

Looks like no one else has any knowledge of the AOL software. I have installed Thunderbird and the friend likes it better than AOL - so I guess all is well.

My wife likes AOL so I have to find the stuff for her. Somewhere in the AOL file there is a download folder, it is seperate from the regular download folder.

Easy way to find it is to search for something you downloaded by it's file name.

    Paul,

Thanks for the input. My friend has been quite happy using Thunderbird so I don't think I want to throw any marbles out on the dance floor.
