I've been installing this lately on client's systems and some of my own, and it works very well, low resources, non-intrusive, user friendly and free. It's made from the kapersky antivirus engine. Seems to work better than AVG and other free apps. Note: during the install, you can choose NOT to install the AOL antispy browser toolbar.

Sounds very interesting Tony. Would like to install it on wife's w98SE (300Hz/128MB) network attached computer. First I must remove AVG free from her system. I thought I would download install program using my XP (using your furnished link), but it gives the initial appearance of a web/stub install (?), so I canceled the link. Did receive registration key (via email), but not sure it will be usable on w98 if it is a web/stub install.
    Thanks Tony

I just cleaned a client's Dell computer last week that uses it. It never detected any of the infections that I had to remove. Even the AOL firewall never asked if I wanted to deny access by programs I was downloading that needed to "call" back, it just automatically allowed them.

I have also noticed that the newest AVG 7.5 isn't detecting as well as it used to.

Then there is one thread at another board where Avast removed legit critical items and crippled the PC.

I am seriously considering using paid AV programs from now on for my clients instead of giving them the option of free.

NOD32... in my opinion, the best bang for the buck.

Hmm. Seems like those AOL AVS and Kaspersky users need a lot of backup apps to keep them clean. ;)

It's an installer using MSInstaller (MSI). It's not a web/stub install.
