i've been wondering if any people are successfully running more than one antivirus program on their computers?

    if so, which ones?

and are you experiencing any problems?

anyone think this is a wise thing to do?

    would it be overkill?

    :)

I have Norton A/V 2002 installed on my XP System. In addition to this I also on occassion use the online scanners at PC Pitstop and Trend Micro

    it does help.

i've asked this question in other forums as well, and your strategy is one i have seen repeated elsewhere

that is... utilizing online scans as a back up to your main, installed av protection.

fyi, i am runing the PC-cillin trend micro scan on three different operating systems thanks to your post.

    You're welcome.

You can never be too careful, especially when it comes to virus's. I got stung a couple of weeks ago by the Yaha.K virus. My kid opened an attachment that was sent to him. I noticed the next morning that things didn't seem to be right and that Norton was disabled and wouldn't reload. Norton didn't pick the virus up when he opened the attachment because this particular virus wasn't included in their most recent automatic definitions download at that time. But Trend Micro caught it and saved me a considerable amount of headaches.
