    Hi there,

This can be a Windows problem or a Powerline problem, I really don't know. I'm very bad in networking issues... here's my problem.

I was lucky to connect 3 Pc's to one Powerline, type XE104 (four ports unit)

Config = cable modem/router/one XE104 in the garage + one XE104 linked to 3 PC's at the house's first level

    PC's : 2 x XP SP2 and 1 x Vista Ultimum

Each PC works beautifully at more than comfortable speeds.

HOWEVER, and could this be a WINDOWS problem ?

I now try to setup a home network in order to exchange files between the three computers... but I can't see them !

Is this because all three are on the same XE104 device ? Or do I need some additional piece of hardware to enable sharing between these computers ?

    Thanks for any clue !

    Powerline Wi Fi adapter

I played around with a Belkin powerline adapter.
It installed and worked in a snap - I was very impressed.
However when i went back to that PC the software and drivers seemed to have taken over my networking.
I do not remember what i did to get my wireless card working on an XP Professional installed laptop but I remember it was not easy.
Try the program network magic to see if it can setup the sharing of files.

    Network Magic

Thx a lot Visionof. This little program seemed indeed be "the" solution. However, after installing it, it didn't find the router to which the first (master) Powerline adapter is hooked to.
As it installed itself under the LAN connection properties, my original connections didn't work anymore.
As soon as I uninstalled it, the network re-started. So, no harm done - but the PC's can't still see eachother ... weird ...

    Thanks anyway.

    Ethernet Powerline Adapters matching pairs

I wonder if anyone can answer this question.
Do the 2 ( or more) powerline adapters in a network have to be matching pairs from the same manufacturer and model ?
I know there are diffirent speeds.
