Maybe it means the copies you can get directly from MicroSoft by ordering it..
I know I've gotten both 32 and 64 in the same box (Windows Vista Beta and just recently Windows Vista Release Candidate 1)...

From what I understand, all of the floavors of Vista will be on the dvd. The key code you purchase will determin the version you run..

I thought for a second there that Microsoft was allowing to install either of your choice with the same one set of keys , Though what would make one choose 64 bit , I mean what would be the benefit for it ? Beside if you own a company were you would need a server type

    All in one package

Lets see if I can do multi-replies here.

Yes! The understanding I have is that Basic, Premium and Ultimate including X64 will be on the same disk. The liscense you buy will determine what is loaded. Now, how this works is that Vista requires your liscense key before it even starts installing. The key you input will determine the output.

Now, x86 or x64 will still be up to the customer.

Now, why would anyone want to load X64? Well, it is simple, more and more 64 bit computers are coming out. Knowing that more and more 64 bit software is becoming available. On the hardware side, there are many hardware providers that are starting to jump on the 64 bit band wagon.

From a personal standpoint, as someone who is using Vista Ultimate X64, I can tell you that X64 runs faster and more efficient than 32 bit. Not to mention, having a 64 X2 processor allows it to run even more efficient, there is no lag, and no bottle necking with my system.
I have tried both 32 bit and 64 bit Vista, and I am so hooked on the Vista 64 performance.. I will have nothing else..
