I'd like to download a file splitter so that I can copy large files onto floppy disks, but a google search turns up so many hits for such programs that I'm wondering if there's anyone at this forum here who can narrow down the choices for me, or just recommend a particular one. I'm not familiar with any of the download sites, so I'm a little leery of spyware that might accompany the software.
    Thanks!

I like Winzip and file splitting (often called "spanning ") is only one of the things it can do. The free version works fine if you don't mind a nag screen every time you start it.

Chainsaw is a pretty good one. I've used it for a long time. You'll have to zip the file with something else though if that's what you want to do. The nice thing about it is that it creates a batch file that you use to put the file back together again. If you want to restore the file on another computer, there's no need to have the program. Just use the batch file. An added bonus, it's free.
