I am going to be installing a nwe motherboard and processor, removing my wired, and wireless, NIC's, in favor of my motherboards onboard LAN. Due to Windows Product Activation, I am a little worried about things. Will everything be ok? This is going to be a massive hardware change, and I just want it to work.
Also...I lost the discs that came with my motherboard, but I downloaded drivers from ASUS. If I have these on my hard drive and I replace the mobo, can I just run the EXE and everything will be ok? or will it refuse to boot?
    I'm going from a P3 to P4 based Celeron.

Upgrade MB with Exist XP drive

Yes, I'm pretty sure you will end up calling M$ to reactivate, but shouldnt be a problem.

If you wish to keep your programs and files, I suggest you do solution 2 at -->

    http://www.windowsreinstall.com/install/other/motherboard/winxp.htm

and look at the link for win2k for more detail.

I've done this several times without a hitch.

    Good Luck
