Hi, I am using norton 2001, ver 7.07. I just started using Mozilla.
I still have IE and outlook express.
Norton will scan mail coming in to outlook.
How do I set it up to also do Mozilla?
Does it have to be set as the default browser.

    thanks
    peace be with you

Have you tried to use the same settings you use for your other email program?

I believe you should be able to change the pop server in mozilla to

    pop3.norton.antivirus

if you want to enable email protection.

In the mail & newsgroups window, go to edit > mail & newsgroup account settings > server settings > server name, and fill in pop3.norton.antivirus for the server name.

The above assumes you have already set up an account. If you haven't done that yet, you should do so.

    Detailed information is available here.

    Got a problem

    Hi Tranquilo,
I set up the pop3.norton.antivirus, but after, i get a message:
    Alert
    Failed to connect to server

I have tried to change it back to what it was originally.
But now I get this message:
    Alert
    Could not connect to server;
    The connection was refused.
If you have any ideas, I'd be grateful.
I don't think its anything big, I am just missing something.
    Thanks

    peace be with you

Here are the settings that my Norton's version require:

    Setting Name............ New Setting
    Incoming POP3 Server..... 127.0.0.1
    User name................. userid/mail.ispname.com
    Outgoing SMTP Server...... mail.ispname.com

Try that and see if it gets you going.

    go figure

Well life with computers never gets boring. I deleted the account and made a new one. And all is fine. The settings look the same.
    My incoming is (POP3) postoffice.worldnet.att.net.
Something else must have changed when I tried Norton. But I couldn't find it.
    Thanks for the help.
