Another weird keyboard problem

    Certain keys, such as the underscore, the per cent etc.won't work,and I really need the underscore one to install . I found a couple of similar problems from john costello (feb. 26 2009) and another from lhomg(feb.26 2002) that I found on google. The latter one is quite similar, but with my very limited knowledge I can't figure out how to do what you told them.I followed your solution for lhomg, went to Discussion then Hardware, then thread starter but can't find <<danzante>>. I don't know how to find the first solution and gave up looking after an hour. If you can help me I "d be forever grateful' but please, if you do , could you put it in in the most simple steps that even I
    could figure out. thank you boqu

    I found the post you refered to - I don't know if the solution will work for you, but .....

    These instructions are for XP - you did not post your Operating Systwm :)

    Boot into Safe Mode and log onto your usual account.
    Go to Control Panel > System > Hardware tab - Device Manager button.

    In Device Manager expand the section Keyboards by clicking on the + sign

    Right click on your keyboard > Uninstall

    Confirm Device Removal - Yes

    System Setting Changes - Do you want to restart your computer now - Yes

    On reboot the keyboard will be reinstalled.

    If you see a prompt to install a driver answer Yes.
