another question about RegSeeker's backups

When you restore RegSeeker's backups, should the backed-up files disappear from the Backup folder, or do they remain in there?
I attempted to restore the 43 backups in my RegSeeker Backup folder, and while all the entries I'd originally had RegSeeker remove are apparently not back in place (I say that because even after restoring, a RegSeeker scan now still comes up with fewer entries than it did before I deleted anything in the first place), I don't know how to verify which ones have been properly restored, nor where to look for those that have not. In any case, other than being a little slow, my computer seems to be okay again now.
I'd like to use RegSeeker again to make sure that all the components of Kazaa Lite are gone from my system (I didn't touch those entries before - didn't want to do too much at once), but I'm wondering if I should delete the existing files in my RegSeeker Backup folder so that I'll know which ones pertain to Kazaa Lite, just in case I run into any snags after deleting those.
    Any advice?
    Thank you!

Here's what I think you are having a problem reconciling:

The individual backups that RegSeeker make are aggragates that contain several individual keys each. So, merely comparing how many backups you have restored to how many new items are subsequently detected would not be a valid measure of anything relevant. For example, if you restored two backups which each contained three keys, you might expect there would be 6 new item detected with a subsequent scan. That isn't necessarily true though since there may be duplicate listings in the backups. Don't go there since it won't gain you anything but a headache. :) If the computer works up to par now, give it a rest until something worse happens.

No, the backups don't disappear when you restore them. It's up to you to do that housecleaning whenever you need to.

As for tracking the backups, just notice the date they were created and make yourself a mental note (or paper log) as to what you were trying to accomplish at that time. Otherwise they are given a generic name by RegSeeker which may not be of much value to you.

Searching the Registry for renmants of KazaaLite would be Ok. Just note the date of the backup created, if any. BTW, if you have ever had Kazaa installed, you can use KazaaBeGone (freeware) to get rid of all remnants from it. I doubt it would be effective on KazaaLite though.

Thanks for setting me straight on the RegSeeker backup files, Surferdude; you were right on target with my "reconciliation problem "!
I uninstalled Kazaa Lite through Add/Remove in Control Panel, then had RegSeeker do a search for Kazaa. It came back with 6 entries, which I deleted - and which resulted in a single file labelled Kazaa with today's date in my RegSeeker Backup folder. No problems at all this time! :D
