upgraded to Win 10, all appears to be ok, then at 1AM-ish (local) i lose my connectivity. Only on the machine running win 10. My Wifi is up and strong, i rebooted router, even rebooted house FiOS main box.
i have a Broadcom Netlink (TM) gigabit ethernet device, the driver is up to date. I tried all shy of a reboot, which eventually solved the issue, then it happened again thursday last and agin last night (8/15/15) well actually 8/16, since it was after midnite.
    ideas?

Have you checked with your ISP to see whether they had problems.
Are your drivers up to date. I haven't experienced any Internet troubles with W10 and I've been using it for months. (W10 Insider Program) Neil.

couldn't be the ISP, as there are other systems on the network, and they appeared to be fine.
I checked, and the drivers are up to date

it just did it again, and it appears that the Broadcom gets shifted to a disable status.. but why it is happening on it's own I don't know.

found this thread on another site....

    >>>>>>>>>Driver I used with Windows 7 x64 Edition:

    Provider: Broadcom

    Date: 7/20/2010

    Ver: 14.2.0.7

Driver Windows 10 Installs by default and would eventually fail, dropping the network connection:

    Provider: Microsoft

    Date: 1/29/2013

    Ver: 15.6.12

Driver downloaded from Broadcom, seems to be working perfectly:

    Provider: Broadcom

    Date: 4/10/2015

    Ver: 17.2.0.0 (as of 08/06/15)

This is the link to Broadcom http://www.broadcom.com/support/?gid=12

Scroll Down to DRIVERS and look for this entry, NetLink®/NetXtreme® I Desktop/Mobile/Server (x64)

Click the arrow icon to the left of this entry to download the driver file package.

I have not lost my network connection since installing this driver and will follow up if I do have issues.

Maybe Broadcom will provide a certified driver for Microsoft to be included in an update. I won't be holding my breath waiting because this NIC and the PC it came in are now considered legacy tech.<<<<<<

Glad to see you're sorted with your internet connection. With all the millions of parameters available in computer software/drivers, there's bound to be the odd hiccup.
Did you use BelArc Advisor to get the info in your last Post? That will be the reason it doesn't recognize W10 yet.
You have obviously entered your System Details as they show under your Profile OK. ;) Neil.

the continuing story of bungalow bill

it appears that i have sorted it out based on the fix i found on microsoft's community answers site.... i have left my system running for several hours now, and so far (note the tentative tone), it has not disconnected me.
and yes that was Belarc Advisor for the stats of my system.

i am going to leave this "open" for a little longer before i mark it resolved, just in case and then i don't have to go thru the initial info routine and rebuild all the steps taken.
