When I try to access a web page by entering the name in the search box, I get a page full of stuff I'm not interested in with the heading, "Seek Well And Be Happy ". How do I get back to my original browser? Thanks.

This link zooms you into the security forum and a sublink with a category of "adaware and spyware ". :

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33

Spybot or Hijackthis will get ya' back to normal.

Any other problems or difficulties either understanding software, advice or finding the fix just pin up a post in the security forum.

    Hi Julie49,

Your most welcome and obviously this was no problem at all. Your going to have to do all the work.

While I don't doubt the return of IE control back to your personal choices, I would appreciate a little update, tacked on to this, letting myself and others know that you are safe and sound, no worse for the ware and wiser besides.

Who knows, by the time you run ad-aware or spybot, you may have put a bit more zip back into windows/IE "s step. :D

Thanks, Ann. Just to let you know that I downloaded Spybot and it cleared up the problem. It also found other junk which I knew nothing about! Appreciate the help. Thanks again.

Goddez1: Hi. I followed your link for spyware blaster at Dr. Dooms page, from there to try to download the anti hijack utility from Wilders.org, got a bad link for the download, used the directions on that site for bad link, ended up with an Amazon page trying to sell me a whole bunch of securtity fixes.

Somethings fishy here. Looks like Wilders.org got hijacked!

Hi Lonny: Yes, I got to the site, but the link for download of the anti hijack got me a "page cannot be displayed" and led me back to www.wilders.org. I don't remember exactly how I got to a page that said anti hijack had been combined into Spyware blaster, and then clicked the link to go to spyware blaster. There I got a download link, that's the one that took me to Amazon.com.

Maybe a freaky accident, I don't know, I just never asked to go to Amazon & ended up there. The only sites/windows I was navigating through were the Wilders. That's why I suspected something fishy.

I see what happens and let you know after I run through the links you posted.

And I thank you for your interest and support.

    Martin

Lonny: Sorry to take so long to get back to you on this, so much to do, so little time.

I was able to get to the download using the links in your post, downloaded last week, installed last night.

Everything seems to be going ok, I can't tell you if it is working properly yet as it has only been running while online for an hour or so. I did check, tells me no log file, so after running it for a while, I'll try to remember to post back results.

So, I don't know how I got linked to Amazon, like I said, maybe some freaky accident.

You take care and thanks for your interest.

    Martin
