When I try to play a video file from an e-mail, Widows Media Player opens but instead of playing the file I get the blue screen of death message....

    0028:C16E1COB in VXD WSOCK2 (01)

What does this message mean and what do i do about it?

    Thank you.....Joe

PS: Today I upgraded to WMP 9 but the result is the same.

The Wsock2.vxd is a windows support and is a 2.0 transport service used by TCP/IP.

It could be that you have installed some new network components or services, which as not been successfully configured which has resulted in the above error.

If you remember doing anythig like this, remove and add these components again or just remove and reinstall the TCP/IP component.

0028: C16E1COB I think is a memory address, I have to admit I have not come across this memory range before if it is one.
