For a while I was using Skype, they had a ring tone that occured every once in a while, maybe every 10 minutes, to advertise a service of theirs. This got so annoying I deleted Skype, however, the ring tone continues. I've got to get rid of it, driving me nutzo. Can't figure it out, how do I do that? Thanks, Pico

PeteC and Arie, Thanks very much for the advice and pardon me for not following the rules, I'm new here and the next time around will pay closer attention. To make a long story short, I followed all PeteC's instructions and still had the problem and was getting desperate. On my second monitor I have some forex trading software and I begin to wonder if that was the cause. Trading alerts are a "ding" and I never considered that as the cause, as this was like the Skype ring. After considerable digging I found that the ring tone was caused by an alert, which I turned off. Regards, Pico
