Our grand-daughter graduated from university in June with a BS in Microbiology. She had planned a three-month "wander" through Europe with one of her college friends. They are out there now.

Before she left, she went looking for job opportunities and found something interesting with our State government. She filled out the on-line application and sent it in, then left on her trip.

She got an e-mail from the agency, expressing an interest and inviting her for an interview. She replied saying that she was out of the country and wasn't available to visit the recruiting office. She got a return message asking if she had Skype. She replied in the affirmative. The agency set up a Skype interview with her while she was in Amsterdam and she got an e-mail offering her the job two days later. She'll be starting in late August

    The wonders of modern communications!

As Pete said, congtrats to your G'daughter.

With todays technology you must also beware of the DCM delivered by txt.

We've read of quite a number of these cases here in NZ, and it's alarming that there are spineless cretins out in the market place who resort to using cell phones instead of face to face.

I'm all for using the latest technology, but don't abuse it. Neil.
