Im currently building a PC with the following spec:

    MSI KT3 Ultra2 Mobo (MS-6380E)
    AMD XP 2400+
    512Mc DDR PC2700
    64Mb Geforce 4 MX 440SE
    80Gb WD HDD
    Samsung DVD/CDRW

I have assembled the PC and installed XP Professional on one large disk partition. The install went fine without error.

When the PC is rebooted I get no video and it just gives beep codes and hangs.

The first time I got 8 beeps, which is 'Display memory error' according to AMI, but now every time I boot I get 3 beeps (2 together, followed by another one).

It might sound stupid, but my first question is is this classified as 3 beeps, or 2 beeps and 1 beep?

I have removed all other PCI cards and it still does the same.

Assuming this is either a memory or video problem, I have swapped the memory DIMM and also the video card and still get the same.

The motherboard has a bracket with diagnostic LEDs on it. This ends up with LEDs 1-3 being green, and 4 being RED.

According to the manual this is "Testing real time clock" , the next stage is "Initialising video interface" which I presume it is where it is getting stuck.

I have also tried to reset the CMOS defaults by jumpering on JBAT1 whilst powered off.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to try next?

    Thanks
