AMD Athlon 2400+ not running to its correct speed?

    i bought an amd 2400+ a few months ago and installed it.i've just decided to run an utility to see what speed its actually running at and it says 2017mhz.how come?before i installed the processor i updated my bios like you should do and my motherboards max processor it can has is the 1 i bought.the motherboard is an Soltek SL-75DRV4

    According to the manual it is approximately correct.

    The 2400+ designation shouldn't be confused with the clock speed.
