Resolved Alt Key problem

    [FONT= "Microsoft Sans Serif"]The fn key requires holding down for keyboard to type normally on US keyboard on a Benq Laptop running Vista:(

    So, what happens when you don't hold it down?

    Check the keyboard settings for keyboard layout.

    It may help to tell us your OS.

    Responses: When the alt Key is not depressed only the alt characters appear'
    No mention of Layout of keyboard in Control Panel, Keyboard standard PS/2
    OS is Vista

    SORRY It is the "fn" function key that is the problem

    I am going to assume this was solved by using one of the key combinations provided by link that will work for release or setting FN key lock/unlock/invert settings.

    Several to try as the right combination may be comp/specific.
