Is there a way to allow a standard (non administrator) user account to do some restricted items without giving that account full user status?

In this instance, I want the standard user to disable a network connection and enable another one without making that person a full administrator.

In an ordinary situation I would look at making two different network profiles for each and switch between them. So, in Network and Sharing Center, use Set up a connection or network with a different name for each and whatever settings they need, then the user should be able to select between them. That's my theory :), I don't have the opportunity to test it in Vista, but that is what I set up for users in Windows XP.

"Network Discovery" should also be able to tell which network is available.

Can you tell us some of the details of the two connections? We might be able to help you further.

I suppose if it was possible to allocate administrator rights for that user on the network connection, it might be possible to do it the way you are saying, but I wouldn't know where or how to set it.
