    Hey guys,
Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes. My son has been waiting days to log in to Final Fantasy XIV he pre ordered and he has been getting kicked at the title screen. There is news around the web about issues so he has tried a few things to get it working. I just tried to lower the security level of the firewall built in to the wireless gateway from Comcast that we have and now it works great (to bad I did not do it sooner so he could have used the early access) Now my question is, How do I allow this program without having the security so low ( on medium before ).

    Thank you

The default setting for the xfinity gateway firewall is "Minimum ".

Thank you TonyT but wouldn't it be a bad idea to have the firewall setting stay so low? Or will I be fine as long as windows firewall is on the pc itself?

    Thanks again

Yes. It says, "Minimum Security (Low), which enables all secure apps. This is the default setting when you first use your wireless gateway. "

Secured applications are allowed, all others are blocked. Thus it's a safe setting. If you want stricter policy then you'll have to use the custom setting and manually add-remove applications as needed.

    Hey guys,
I turned the gateway firewall down to minimum and have been relying on the windows firewall. So for every thing seems to be working great. Thank you again for your help
